Juneau Student Symphony
The Student Symphony is a full size orchestra for music students of all ages. They perform 3 concert pairs per year plus a yearly tour to other Southeast Alaska communities. Visit their website for concert and rehearsal schedules and details about joining the orchestra.
Youth Solo Competition

Open to all young musicians in Southeast Alaska, the Youth Solo Competition provides an opportunity for budding talent to be showcased in a recital atmosphere. The winner may be asked to perform with the Juneau Symphony or the Juneau Student Symphony.
The 2010 Youth Solo Competition will be held on June 2, 2010.
Please join us in June 2010 to support Juneau's young
musicians. Admission to the performance is free and all are welcome to the following reception.
The deadline for applications to the 2010 competition is Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 5pm. No applications will be accepted after the deadline. You must inform the Symphony of what piece you intend to play before you turn in an application so we can verify that the piece is appropriate.

Music in the Schools

Each year the Juneau Symphony performs a one-hour school assembly program at the JDHS auditorium with transportation provided by Princess Cruises and Alaska Discovery Tours. All 4th and 5th graders in the Juneau School District are invited to attend at no cost to the students or the schools. Prior to the concert Symphony musicians visit the
classrooms to demonstrate their instruments and share their enthusiasm for music.
The 2009-10 Music in the Schools concert will be at 10am on Friday, April 2 at JDHS.

Kids2Concerts
